Studio Facelift

The Studio makeover is almost done and it's looking fantastic. We are aghast, though, at how a 4-day project actually became a 4-week project with little surprises along the way; so, there is real value to the statement that renovating is like opening a can of worms! However, we are now excited about completing the face lift and finally getting back to real work photographing our favorite pets.

Studio Makeover

I've neglected the photo blog, shamelessly, as we work on studio renovations ... will be glad when it's all done, portraits hung and new photographs in the window display. It's been a long haul putting the construction site up and taking it down between shoots -- and to put it up again for the night shift crew ... namely, me! Pooches haven't suffered in the process as we picked up some wonderful, all natural, hand made treats from "High End Dog" in Dragon Alley! Yummy, they are made for humans too. In fact, people actually share them with their dogs!

Dogs Definitely Smile

Dogs smile. They definitely do. When I look over the hundreds of doggie photos we've taken, there are tons of pictures where dogs have those turned up lips and a twinkle in their eyes. There are as many different smiles shining through their portraits as there are varieties of dogs. Some smile while showing their teeth; some have turned up lips; then there are those smiles with a sideways slant; others have perfected the 'Mona Lisa' smile and some sport downright mischievious grins for their portrait. However, they all have in common those adoring, 'melt-your-heart' eyes that can melt even the most stoic of photographers!

We Are Wild About Photographing Dogs!

We are wild about photographing dogs. At Studio 26 there are dog portraits everywhere! Happy dogs, excited dogs, hot dogs, faithful dogs, beautiful dogs, exuberant dogs, brilliant dogs, handsome dogs, gentle dogs, photo dogs and, of course, sun dogs to help all dogs find their way there.

Photographing A Beautiful Dog in Victoria

Guss was a beautiful dog to photograph and though he had only a couple of favorite poses, he was a perfect model in his portrait session. He also became an expert at playing hide and seek behind the curtain!

Portrait of a Pet Princess

Miley was the perfect pet princess for her portrait session at our Victoria studio. She's a very sweet puppy and Karis, her owner, has trained her to behave wonderfully. Karis masterfully trained Miley to sit up and she does that as patiently and gracefully as a princess would to be photographed. Besides being a good trainer, Karis, who is just six, is also one of the best photo assistants we've had at a portrait session.

Studio 26 Photographs Rodie!

Rodie was yesterday's pet portrait pick at Studio 26 Photography. He was an excellent model and definitely has perfected his photographic attitude! His behaviour was impeccable and he has to be one of the most gentle, well-behaved dogs in Victoria.

Groomed to perfection, Rodie arrived with a shiny fur coat and big break-your-heart doggie eyes that can definitely melt a photographer's heart. Oh, did I mention handsomely
